FLSA Status: Salary Full time (Tuesday through Saturday)

Position Summary:
The Market Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Farmers Market Manager with the planning and execution of farmers market events, including the Saturday, Wednesday and Indoor Farmers Markets. This role involves coordinating special activations, managing live entertainment, and ensuring the markets are lively, engaging, and successful. In addition to farmers market responsibilities, this role may support other DBI events as needed, specifically scheduling music and activations on the new A Street Promenade.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, organizing, and execution of farmers market events and special activations.
Coordinate with local musicians and entertainers to curate live performances that enhance the market atmosphere.
Collaborate with the Farmers Market Manager to develop and execute event themes and programming.
Oversee the setup and breakdown of market events, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
Engage with the community and attendees to create a welcoming and vibrant market experience.
Manage marketing and promotional efforts in collaboration with the Communications team to drive market attendance.
Collect feedback from vendors and attendees to continuously improve market experiences.
Maintain an inventory of market supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are well-managed and accounted for.
Assist with administrative tasks, including vendor application processing, invoicing, and record keeping.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Farmers Market Manager, Events Director, or Executive Director.
Coordinate with local musicians and entertainers to curate live performances that enhance the atmosphere on the A Street Promenade.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-moving team.
Knowledge of or interest in local agriculture, sustainability, and community engagement.
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, social media platforms).
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, including working evenings, weekends, and select holidays as needed.
Ability to work primarily in the Downtown Bentonville office.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in event management, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Physical Demands
Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Employee must work outdoors 40% of time in varying weather
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, for long periods of time
Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, etc.
